Ages 14 and up have the opportunity to shape and manipulate hot furnace glass in this glass sculpting experience. Our professional staff will guide you through this multi-step process. Choose the colors of flower you’ll be making, dress in the safety gear provided, then have a seat in the glassblower’s bench. You’ll be using traditional glassmaking tools to stretch and shape molten glass just like glass artists. After the gather of glass is sculpted, the flower is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process. Flowers are ready for pick up the following day or may be shipped for an additional fee within the US and Canada.

Ornament

Open to all ages, this experience allows you to work with hot glass up close, while staying on the cool end of the glassblowing iron at all times. You’ll start by choosing the glass colors you want to use and the shape of your ornament, and then partner with our professional glassblowers to create your design. You will shape the ornament by blowing air through the moving blowpipe as the glassblower guides the glass with special tools. After you and the glassblower have shaped your ornament, it is removed from the blowpipe, a glass loop is added and it is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process. Ornaments are ready for pick up the following day or may be shipped for an additional fee within the US and Canada.

Heart Paperweight

This Make Your Own Glass experience, open to ages 14 and up, is one of the more intensive, hands-on experiences. Choose your colors, and sit at the bench while the glass maker gathers molten glass. You’ll use a variety of tools, including a wooden block, to manipulate and shape your paperweight into a heart shape. Pieces must cool overnight and can be picked up the next day, or shipped for an additional fee within the US and Canada.

Pumpkin

Age Restriction age 14 and up
A seasonal favorite, this experience allows you to work with hot glass up close, while staying on the cool end of the glassblowing iron at all times. You’ll start by choosing the glass colors you want to use for your pumpkin, and then partner with our professional glassblowers to create your own unique fall glass piece. You will shape the pumpkin by blowing air through the moving blowpipe as the glassblower guides the glass with special tools. After you and the glassblower have shaped your pumpkin, it is removed from the blowpipe, a glass stem is added and it is placed in an oven to begin an overnight slow cooling process. Glass pumpkins are ready for pick up the following day or may be shipped for an additional fee within the US and Canada.
